Return to Osojane
The only sustainable return of exiled Serbs for 23 years is in Osojan, Metohija. The return action was carried out in the night between August 12 and 13, 2001, with the close coordination of UNMIK, KFOR and UNHCR, with the absolute cooperation of international institutions with the Bishop of Raska-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija, Artemije.
In the morning hours of August 14, 2001. In 2008, the returnees were already accommodated in tents, which were a temporary solution because the most important thing was to return 54 Serbian residents back to Kosovo and Metohija.
The decision to carry out the entire action during the night was made in order to avoid possible attacks by Albanians despite the fact that the convoy with the returnees was being secured by KFOR members. That 14.08.2001. the first Holy Liturgy was served.
